"A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his."
Over the past 2 1/2 years Save A Life has adopted more than 3,500 puppies/dogs.
Here are some of the animals now in their new homes;;
Kasey Momma
Adopted by Jeanne Ayotte & Family.
Mina
Adopted by Kelle Dorsch.
"I just wanted to give you an update on the
status of one of your dogs that was adopted about a year and a half ago.My
mother and I took my 2 daughters to the PetSmart in Oveido on Red Bug Lake Road
on December 10th or 11th of 2007. My dog of 10 years had passed in August and I
was waiting until I could work at home to adopt another dog. We looked
tirelessly on the Petfinder website until we finally settled on her, that is
Mina. You had her classified as a tan Shepherd mix. She was still so little and
cute. My mother also adopted a black Lab that day and we drove all the way back
to Palm Bay.
Both puppies slept the entire ride. I just wanted to let you know how good of a
dog Mina has turned out to be and boy, does she have some big ears! She weighs
about 52 lbs now at age 1 1/2. She has grown into her ears and is perfectly
proportioned. She loves kids and other dogs. Every night, she sleeps at the
bottom of my bed curled up in a little ball giving one long sigh that almost
sounds like a cow's moo before finally falling asleep.. She does have a lot of
feline tendencies for a dog. She likes to get on the back of the couch and
sleep, literally, on the back of the couch. She hops on top of our spa
like a cat and stretches like a cat sometimes, but she is definitely all dog. I
hope this little note will let you know what a service you are providing for
not only the dogs, but for the people who adopt them as well. I would never
want her to be gone from my family."
Emme
Adopted by the Hull Family.
Sammie
Adopted by Aubrey & Chris.
"Sammie is doing great. She is an excellent dog.
She knows 'come' and 'sit' now with no problem (unless she is super excited
over something and then she totally forgets we exist but we are working on
that). Normal puppy stuff, couldn’t ask for a better puppy. She is already 25lb
so I'm thinking she definitely took on more of the lab :) Everyone that sees
her assumes she is full lab until they see the funny colored lighter brown
patches on her. I will see if I have some current pics and attach them just so
you can see how happy she (and we) are."
Ryan & Suki
Adopted by Amanda.
Emmie & Booster
Adopted by the Hess Family. "Last November we adopted Booster (black and white pointer) and in February Emerald. They are best buddies so it only seems suitable that I send a photo that has them doing just that, being best buddies.Booster is an amazing goofball. He's great with our other two tiny
dogs. We take him camping with us and he loves it. Emerald is a
beautiful perfect little puppy too. Booster and Emmie are like two peas
in a pod. Emerald was the brain and Booster was the brawn. I attached a
photo of them being their adorable little selves :-)"
Freckles & Rex
Adopted by the Leger Family.
Moose
Adopted by Lori Paticelli and Family.
"We just wanted to write and tell you we are thrilled and in love with
him. He has such a personality and very very active now that he is used
to the house. It was funny as on Saturday we have wood and tile floors
that he wasn't use to so he would not walk but slide across. We woke up Sunday and he was a maniac running around! He is such a lover. He is a
fast learner and already knows to sit or get in his newly claimed bean bag when my husband says so, he loves my husband and son. He has won everyone in the house over - in fact i slept in the guest room
so my husband, son and him could all sleep together in the king size
bed. We have 1 1/2 acres in our backyard and it is all fenced in. Today
my son and husband let him off the leash and he ran for an hour with
them. He loves to fetch the tennis ball and sit under the trees. When all the play time was done, he went inside and got in his crate and passed out. Thanks so much for your adoption agency and all your hard work."
Adelaide
Adopted by Wendy Johnson.
Swami
Adopted by George Arnold
Thought
you would like this photo of Honey.....the kids have renamed her Swami.
She has really taken to us and the other Aussie, and loves to explore. She
loves to eat and has already gotten bigger. The kids love her. It is
unbelievable, but she is basically housebroken...only one accident..and it was
because we ignored the signs...not her fault. We are introducing her to
our Vet tomorrow so that he can get her on a schedule for whatever she needs. I
can't tell you enough how happy we are with her.... and can't
thank you enough for all your help. I will send more pictures in a few weeks. Kindest
regards, George Arnold.
Bailey
Adopted by the Vernachio Family.
Hope
Adopted by Rhonda Hanna.
We just love our
little girl, she is a trip. Hope has been a great addition to the family
although she has destroyed my dining
room chairs, ate a hole in the back of our loveseat and I sure
can't keep a rug of any kind in the house. Most of this was done a weekend away
when my step son was at the house watching the dogs. I blame him more then her.
She is such a blessing... We lost one of our older dogs last month, he was a
rescue that we had for almost 9 years. Missing him everyday that goes by, she
is such a joy!!!!!! And the timing of getting Hope was just perfect. I have
attached a few new photo's. She is a little timid around anything new so we are
starting doggie kindergarten Aug 22nd. She has so much energy that we decided
to enroll her in several series of classes. She will do Basic Obedience class,
then canine good citizen, by then she should be a year old and we are going to
do Therapy classes. Thank you so much for what you do.
Hailee
Adopted by Stuart.
Holly
Adopted by Beth Hall and Family.
Hi
there! Just wanted to let you know how happy we are with our new puppy
and how grateful we are for your hard work and dedication. We lost our
golden retriever of 7 years about 2 1/2 months ago, and at that time I thought
we might never have another dog, at least for several years. But my heart
melted and I thought it wouldn't hurt to check out Petfinders. What a
'mistake' that was! You had so many sweet looking, heart melting little
faces on there. We drove from the Melbourne
area (IndianHarbourBeach) to the Oviedo Petsmart to
find a puppy who might ease the aching in our hearts and the missing space in
our family. Our older son, age 8, had no idea we were going...didn't want
to risk another pain. We found Holly and even though we thought her
online persona was cute, we didn't realize how she would jump into our lives
with such affection. At home, our older son was very excited, and a little
overwhelmed. He'd been wanting a puppy so badly, and still cries
sometimes for our lost dog. He has embraced her so deeply, and is so in
love with her and I believe our loss has taught him a much deeper appreciation
which he shows with his eyes when he looks at her. She is such a perfect
fit with all of us (although the cats and the 2 year old are taking a little
longer to realize it...but they are coming along ;) ). I can't believe
how little effort it is taking to 'housetrain' her, only 2 mistakes so far and
those are simply b/c we didn’t' take her out soon enough. She is sweet,
smart, and affectionate and I'm amazed with her on a daily basis. Thank you so
much. Beth Hall and family.
